Trade-In Policy

What do we buy and what don't we buy

We’re not picky . . . we’re selective!  Our inventory is large and our storage space is small, so we can’t take everything that’s brought to us.

We buy both children and adult books that are in good to great condition. This means that all books must be in good condition. Paperbacks must be like-new in order for us to consider them. There can be no markings within any of the texts — no highlighting, underlining, or marginalia.

We do not accept paperback romance novels, ex-library books, or out-of-date material such as computer manuals, travel guides, and education books. I’m sorry, but we cannot not take:

  • BOOKS THAT SMELL LIKE CIGARETTES/SMOKE
  • BOOKS WITH CREASED SPINES OR COVERS
  • BOOKS WITH TORN DUST JACKETS (UNLESS ANTIQUE/COLLECTIBLE)
  • ENCYCLOPEDIAS
  • DIRTY, MOLDY, WATER-DAMAGED OR BROKEN BOOKS

Book Condition Requirements

Books must not have any underlining, highlighting, and water damage. Books must be free of all stickers, all pages should be securely bound, and the spine unbroken.

What kind of payment will I receive?

We issue store credit that can be used up to 50% of any purchase. You can use the store credit, or you may share it with anyone.

A general rule of thumb for the store credit we issue is:
Children’s Paperback: 5DKK
Children’s Hardcover: 10-25DKK
Adult Paperback: 10-20DKK
Adult Hardcover: 20-50DKK

When can I drop off the books?

How many used books may I bring in for consideration?

Due to a limit on time, we ask that you bring in no more than 30 (the size of one regular size moving box). If you have more, than please contact us and we can arrange a time or you can leave the books with us for evaluation when time permits.

One last thing...

Please be sure to pack books in small boxes or bags for safe transportation down the stairs!

…and please be careful when lifting a large quantity of books or boxes so as not to hurt your back.
